Drymen Primary School has been in operation since c.1874 to the present day. The current school building on Old Gartmore Road was opened in May 1991 and further developed during 1997/1998.
A private school in Fintry called ‘Stewart’s Charity School’ was founded c. 1840 and was in operation until 1893. It was funded by an endorsement bequeathed by John Stewart. The school closed and became a library in 1893 before being transferred to Fintry School Board in 1898 and reverting back to a school. A second parish school also closed in Fintry in 1901 with Stewart’s School becoming the new Parish school until its closure in 1961.
Fintry Primary School was opened on 22 September 1961 by the Rt. Hon. Thomas Johnston. The school and nursery serve Fintry and the surrounding rural district. It is situated at the foot of Dunmore Hill.
A parish school was founded in Gargunnock in 1652 and was replaced a new school built in 1858. Gargunnock Primary School opened in 1977 and replaced the old school, now the village Community Centre.
Doune Public School has been in operation since c. 1872. A new Primary School was opened in 1969 and the school still operates to this day.
Kilmadock School was in operation from c. 1821 to c. 1921.
Deanston School was opened in 1897.
Ardeonaig Public School opened on 21st November 1873. The school closed on 27th June 1986 with pupils transferred to Killin School and Kenmore School.
Drumbeg School was active between 1919 and 1939. The school was owned and operated by sisters Helen and Isobel Wallis-Smith at Drumbeg Cottage. It catered for girls between the ages of six and thirteen as day or weekly boarding pupils. It catered for 59 pupils when it first opened in 1919.
Glendochart Public School operated from c. 1875 – 1966. The school was officially closed on 31st March 1966.
Glenlochay Public School closed on 20th October 1933. Pupils were transferred to Killin.
