Beaconhurst School opened in 1976 following the merger of Hurst Grange School for Boys and the Beacon School for Girls. It was based Kenilworth Road, Bridge of Allan. It closed in 2018.
The Beacon School for Girls was established in 1919 and in the same year, Hurst Grange, a boys' school in Stirling, opened. The two schools merged to form Beaconhurst Grange in 1976.
Hurst Grange School Preparatory School for Boys was established in 1919 by Leslie Horrocks Plant. It was based at 21 Victoria Place, Stirling. In 1952 it was converted into a non-profit making educational Trust, under a board of Governors, which included ‘Old Boys’ and parents. It closed in 1976 and merged with the Beacon School for Girls to form Beaconhurst Grange School in Bridge of Allan.
Trossachs School, Brig O’Turk was built in 1875. The school closed in 2016.

Stirlingshire Constabulary was formed in 1850. It was re-named Stirlingshire Police Force in 1938 when it was amalgamated with Stirling Burgh Police. It was abolished in 1949 and succeeded by Stirling and Clackmannan Police Force.
